Viessmann build some of the most reliable boilers on the UK market, but like any boiler a Vitodens needs an annual service to run safely and efficiently — and when one does develop a fault, it pays to have someone who knows the range. We service and repair every current Viessmann model across London and the West London boroughs, Gas Safe registered, using genuine Viessmann parts, with the cost agreed up front and no call-out fee. We aim to be with you within the hour for an emergency.

Yes, we install boilers too!

ANNUAL VIESSMANN SERVICE

Autumn is the time to get it done — a service now means your heating is ready for winter, and you avoid the queue that forms the moment the first cold snap hits. Just as importantly, most manufacturer boiler warranties require proof of an annual service to stay valid, so skipping one can quietly void years of cover.

Our Viessmann service covers:

  • ✔️ Full safety check and gas-tightness test
  • ✔️ Flue gas analysis and combustion check against Viessmann’s figures
  • ✔️ Burner, heat exchanger and condensate trap inspection and clean
  • ✔️ System pressure, expansion vessel and PRV check
  • ✔️ Controls, safety devices and fault-code history checked
  • ✔️ Service recorded in your benchmark / warranty book

Warranty note: Viessmann offer long warranties on their boilers, and keeping one valid normally means an annual service logged each year. We service to that standard — if your boiler is still inside a Viessmann accredited-installer warranty, mention it when you book and we’ll make sure the service meets its terms. Our own repairs carry a 12-month guarantee on parts and labour.

COMMON VIESSMANN FAULTS

The problems we’re called to most on Vitodens boilers, and what usually lies behind them.

No heating or hot water

Several possible causes The catch-all symptom — it could be a diverter valve, a pump, a failed sensor, a gas supply issue or a locked-out burner. A Vitodens will usually show a fault code with it, which points us straight to the area.

Boiler losing pressure

Leak, or failed expansion vessel If you’re topping up the filling loop repeatedly, there’s a small leak somewhere on the system or the expansion vessel has lost its charge. We find the cause rather than leaving you refilling it every week.

Frozen condensate pipe

The classic winter lockout In a cold snap the condensate pipe freezes and the boiler shuts down to protect itself — often the real reason a Viessmann “fails” overnight. Pouring warm (not boiling) water along the outside pipe can thaw it; if that doesn’t restart it, we’ll thaw it, get you going, and lag or re-route the pipe so it doesn’t happen again. See our frozen condensate pipe page.

No ignition / F4 fault

No flame detected The boiler tries to fire and locks out. On a Vitodens an F4 points to no flame or a faulty flame signal — gas supply, ignition leads, the electrode or the gas valve. A job for a Gas Safe engineer, not a repeated reset.

Banging or kettling

Scale or sludge in the heat exchanger Rumbling and banging usually means limescale or sludge on the heat exchanger — common in our hard-water area. Left alone it shortens the boiler’s life; a flush and a magnetic filter usually sort it.

Showing a fault code

The display is telling you something Vitodens boilers show faults as a code on the display — an F2 points to the temperature limiter / overheat, and an A4 on a 222-F to a blocked burner or airlock. Note the code, don’t keep resetting, and give us a ring — it tells us what to bring.

Before you call: check the pressure gauge is in the green (around 1–1.5 bar cold), that the gas is on, and note any code on the display. One reset is fine; if it locks out again, stop — repeatedly resetting a boiler in fault can turn a small repair into a bigger one. Note the code and call us.

 VIESSMANN SERVICE & REPAIR FAQS

How often should a Viessmann boiler be serviced?
Once a year, and ideally in autumn before the heating is working hard. Beyond keeping it safe and efficient, an annual service is normally a condition of the manufacturer’s warranty — miss one and you can lose years of cover.
Does servicing keep my Viessmann warranty valid?
In nearly all cases, yes — Viessmann’s warranties require proof of an annual service, logged each year. We carry out and record the service to that standard. If your boiler is covered by a Viessmann accredited-installer warranty with specific terms, tell us when you book and we’ll make sure it’s met.
What does F4 mean on my Viessmann boiler?
An F4 on a Vitodens means no flame has been detected, or the flame signal is faulty, so the boiler locks out. It can be the gas supply, ignition electrode, leads or gas valve. Don’t keep resetting it — it needs a Gas Safe engineer to diagnose safely.
My Viessmann is showing a fault code — what should I do?
Note the code from the display, check the pressure gauge is around 1–1.5 bar, and try one reset. If it locks out again, stop and call us with the code — it tells us what the fault is and what to bring, so we fix it on the first visit.
Do you offer fixed-price Viessmann repairs?
Yes. We diagnose the fault, then agree a fixed price with you before any repair work starts — so you know exactly where you stand, with no call-out fee.
Which Viessmann models do you work on?
The full Vitodens range — 050-W, 100-W, 111-W and 200-W, in combi, system and regular forms — plus older Vitodens boilers still in service.
